I’ve only just started reading Angry Black Bitch. I think I added her to my reader about a month ago, but forgot to visit the site in the real web, so I read her too fast. I always fly through my reader. She manages to think deeply without being boring. Not many political bloggers are saying so much with such a strong voice.
Not that I always agree. Or always disagree. I appreciate the way she writes, and I become better when I read better writers than me — many and often. I wonder how many people miss out on good stuff because of political bullshit? She’s far left of me, but I probably won’t die if I read it. (Just like knowledge of a scientific concept doesn’t have to turn you morally inside out.)
Anyway, I have come back to I Call Bullshit several times in the last few days, and also recommend her post on the Jena Six.
A strong voice like this is memorable. How does she do that? Who else does it well? In fiction? In non-fiction? In the blogosphere?
Most importantly: How can we learn to do that?

Wow, after following your links and reading the post and comments, it kinda makes my edu-blog-o-sphere observations seem a bit lame.

I feel the same way. But the real world of race relations and injustices is the one we’re educating students for.
