Always turned off by violence, I put off watching Kill Bill until this weekend. ~that and my disorder that keeps me from watching something everyone tells me to watch~ I generally do not enjoy violent movies. It’s not a holier-than-thou thing if you watch them. Not saying they’re the decline of civilization. I’m just turned off by them.
I always say this when I watch a Tarantino movie, but it never helps: Putting it off was a mistake.
I’m excited about this movie. It was easier to get excited about Mulholland Drive. It was complex and interesting without being ~as~ violent. But still, there’s tons to say about Kill Bill. ~down to and including the fact that this is at least twice that uma thurman has drawn a square in the air for tarantino~
But here’s one of the ~easy~ thoughts I had while I was watching Vol. 1 several times this weekend:
The management style depicted in the following scene isn’t as ridiculous as it looks. It happens all the time. People don’t literally get their heads chopped off. ~that’s my way of warning you that they do in this video. most violent. click at your own risk and all that. oh yeah, there are very very bad words, too~ As Tarantino says, “This is definitely not taking place on planet Earth.”
But in too many workplaces, the tactic is the same. This clip illustrates with force why teachers ~and others~ don’t speak up:
Too many teachers feel like they’re up against a myriad of insurmountable things. The crazy bitch who can collect your fucking head is one of them.

So you know I’m a Tarentino fan…Reservoir Dogs was one of my faves until I met up with the work of Guy Ritchie and his 2 brit gangster movies, Lock, Stock, and 2 Smoking Barrels and Snatch. Gotta love the two-hit work of this Guy (his others are complete shite).
So, then, your post begs the obvious questions: Have you yet watched the Grindhouse anthology (2 parts) of Planet Terror and Death Proof ? …albeit only Death Proof was with Tarantino directing…
Amazing stuff…not sure if there are teacher/administrator connections there though. You can always look for it.
