Cleaning Out

Started cleaning out in January. I’ve been bringing the classroom home a few boxes at a time since I got a letter from the principal on the last day before Christmas break.

I knew I wouldn’t leave in the middle of a school year, but I also knew of my resistance to change, so I thought it best to start slow and early.  I knew I wasn’t coming back next year at inservice week, so the letter wasn’t the reason. ~but an apt example of one of the reasons~  It was just the kick I needed.

At home, the cleaning out started out as necessary to continue normal function in the house as each successive wave of crap came in from the classroom. Then it grew into an effort to rent the smallest moving truck we possibly could.

Now it’s a vital part of the process.

For some reason, I want to pare it all down to a minimum.

    I am in the same process-different reason. There is a merger about to happen here, two households combining. I am using my Spring Break to get ready for it. For someone who thought of herself as a minimalist, I have a lot of stuff. Last time I did a life survey, I was moving-fleeing a bad marriage with only what I truly needed. It was necessary but also liberating. Stuff can weigh you down. I am hoping to get my
    feng shui re-aligned. I wish you a balanced chi as well, my friend.

    So what’s the future hold? Where to next? Have you decided?

    Catching up here, and my gosh I’ve missed a lot.

    You’re so smart, so spirited, so caring - hellcat and all - that I can’t help but think you’ll land on those hellcat feet with still nine lives to spare.

    As the cliche goes, it ain’t no dress rehearsal. It’s the only life we have. I’m glad you’re making it on your terms. Same here. Only a bit scary.

    We’re about to move as well, and yeah, getting rid of as much stuff as possible is key.

    I’m sorry I’m just replying to these comments. My mind is screwy. Please forgive.

    @sadcox Where are you going that’s far, far away?

    @penelope Are you moving far?

    @cburell That means so much coming from you. You’ve been an inspiration to me.

    @olivia Oh. Dear. God. Who the hell knows? I’m scared shitless.

    @linda Stuff DOES weigh you down. I’m realizing how very few of the things in my house and classroom that I truly need. I accept that fung-shui blessing, too. We need it now.

    I honestly didn’t think anyone was still reading. You guys are so awesome.
