In the bathroom chatter ~lounges were removed long ago. hurray for harry wong~ one phrase keeps coming up, “I don’t understand why the district doesn’t step in and do something.”
As though somebody told us the district was on our side and WE BELIEVED THEM.

That made me snort with laughter.
I miss the staff lounge. Years ago-before my involuntary transfer for being the banner girl for the union-lounges were THE place to be on planning time. You knew what upcoming field trips were happening because you got to SEE other teachers. Shared a laugh. Laid out the box of donuts you bought cause you won the football pool again.
Administrators did not feel threatened enough to determine the space was needed for an additional classroom. Eat in your classroom, or car, or whatever.
