Day One

Yesterday was the last day teachers had to report, but I was in by 8:30 and out by 9:30. Then I slept for the better part of 24 hours. So today was the first full day of NOT being anybody’s teacher.

Very little to say about it.

It was a good day. I slept late, but not ridiculously so. I cleaned the oven & cleaned out the kitchen cabinets.  I did some laundry and wrote a little. I found out I made a whole dollar on AdSense. Woohoo! I played some Eminem, and some Floyd, and poked around the web. I watched some Law and Order: Criminal Intent. Planned some posts for the next few days, but sketchy only & likely to change.

But I didn’t think about school. ~except when i was planning those posts~

    One day at a time.

I try not to clean the oven. It just gets dirty again.

Believe me, I half-ass did it. Someone’s probably going to die the first time they eat something cooked in it.

Seems that foamy shit never really comes off.

Not the kind of experience I was hoping to read. A lot like Jodie Foster’s “trip” in Contact.

Laundry? Please don’t tell us you haven’t tended to laundry since you started teaching.

I haven’t tended to laundry properly since I can remember….

But maybe I wasn’t being clear. It wasn’t a big day. It was a nothing day. That was the point. What would have made my point sharper and clearer?

Or were you just being mean?

    A reference to Seinfeld.

I am incapable of being mean. One doesn’t get voted, ‘Most Friendly, Class of ‘89′ by evincing mean-y qualities.

    I live a huggable life.

I was just hoping to read something that included Six Flags, a safari, and perhaps a chalupah binge.

    Dare to dream.

    Oh…Verizon.

Did I just earn you a quarter?
